What do I wear to a country club wedding? The wedding part is at 7pm then the reception is after?

Do I do a formal long dress, cocktail or something in between?? Do I do black or a color? Conservative? I don’t want to show up with a cocktail dress and everyone else is really formal… Just started dating this guy and want to make sure I look appropriate for the occasion. HELP!

   assuming he’s the one that got the actual invitation ask him if you can look at it, somewhere on it should say whether or not it’s a “black tie” (formal) wedding

   or just ask him

   but evening and country club generally means formal (go for a muted color something neurtal, absolutely not black or white)
